This cookbook contains the classics like treacle tart and puddings but also obscure things like that tennis cake they made in Season 4 of the GBBS! What I most enjoyed was the juxtaposition of the "Upstairs" and "Downstairs" dishes--and must admit that while there were only a relatively few items I tabbed as something I would like to prepare, most of them appear in the "Downstairs" section.

However, nothing included is outside of the realm of the modern cook, and they took great pains to make sure that these recipes are something that anyone could tackle. I haven't actually made any of the dishes (transitioning to a healthier lifestyle a few years back, I only use heavy cream, butter and sugar minimally), but there are definitely some I would like to try.
