My thoughts and opinions are of my own. My experience will entirely differ from everybody else. The contents of this review should not be considered factual as this hobby heavily leans on subjectivity. YMMV. Of course you might be more sensitive than I am to this region but you should remember that I don't like bright, unforgiving and analytical stuff and the S12 PRO is not. above 10 kHz. This is where we have air and this is where we get a sense of shine and sparkle in our music. The cable has a braided design and the wires are protected by a flexible PVC insulation that shows a very low amount of microphonic effect. The LetShuoer S12 Pro has a nicely highlighted treble tuning that is shown with a decent sense of presence in the lower treble region, which is able to produce an efficient level of clarity and definition. The transitions from the upper midrange towards the lower treble region are relative smooth and controlled when I do listen to electro guitars or to soprano voices.

Mid-bass - On the other hand mid-bass is very well defined and full. Notes are clearly heard and for someone who plays the bass guitar can be easily distinguished. It is not only a question of boom boom, the bass guitarist is putting together notes at different tempo with interesting phrasing, if the listener cares to appreciate the work going into the music. If not, it is important to the listener that it all hangs together well, melodic and pushes the emotional buttons which draws us to music. everything between 80 and 300 hertz. In this area, we’ve got instruments like bass guitar and the low end of a Various sources were used like the iBasso DC03 Pro, iFi Go bar, Questyle M15, Shanling M0 Pro, and FiiO M11S among others. What I do not want is to be deprived of hearing the various instruments. Excessive mid bass, which drowns out the other parts of the frequency range, but I do want to hear sub-bass, which is occasional in music in any case. I want to hear the midrange, but not to wince when the saxophone blurts out, or a voice shout at me (no matter how good the voice is). I do not want highs which make me want to pull out the earphones from my ears, but I do want to hear the shimmering highs and sparkly notes. Macrodynamic punch is well reproduced, as sudden drops in bass or crescendos maintain their dramatic nature.I've had S12, and these are basically has the same build quality as it's original- top-notch metal shells with anodized blue color for the Left bud & red for the Right bud. Unlike its original, Z12 really does well on standing out lol

At the end of the frequency spectrum, we get to the Air region or the Top End. This region consists of everything I just love the sound and clarity of the s12 iems. I cannot understand the high quality of iems you can get these days for such low price. The S12 and S12 Pro are twins with minor changes that are audible in the upper midrange and treble area. The S12 Pro has a slightly warmer tonality compared to the original S12 that should be a result of the particularly tamed treble register. snare. Lots of the low-end vocals as well, because male vocals are going to have the fundamental below 200Hz in The well extended bass has a near neutral tuning without over emphasizing the mid-bass so it doesn't cloud the rest of frequencies and leaves plenty of free space for the mids to shine.Microdynamics are middling, as the excessive sub-bass masks low-level details and subtle shifts in volume. The treble on the Z12 can be fatiguing at times. Comparisons Vs 7Hz Timeless and TinHiFi P1 Max Founded in 2016 under the leadership of Danny To and Jeff Wong, Letshuoer is o ne of those IEM brands whose name I’ve heard before, but never really paid much attention to. Fortunately, the brand didn’t wait for me and managed to grow year after year, thanks to an ever evolving range of in-ear monitors. It is well contrasted and dynamic, impactful and weighty but it can sound a little hollow and a touch dry. Male vocals sound chesty and somewhat far away in the mix. Female vocals fare a lot better with ample focus. With foam eartips, the treble performance of this IEM seems significantly more natural. Some might perceive it as veiled, but in my personal opinion, it sounds perfectly balanced, although your mileage may vary (YMMV). The details aren't as forward and pronounced as they are with the silicone tips, but they're still audible. Moreover, the clarity of both male and female vocals appears more natural and smooth compared to the more “aggressive” sound produced by silicone tips.

The P1 MAX from TinHifi is another example of a budget friendly earphone with a planar magnetic driver that has an admittedly great audio performance for the price.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a more lively and enjoyable sound signature, go for the silicone eartips. But if you're seeking a more natural and balanced sound signature, opt for the foam eartips. Regardless of your choice, you won't be disappointed with the tuning of this IEM. Both IEM’s do offer a pretty similar soundstage atmosphere. Both the depth and the wideness of the stage are quite identical, since I couldn’t hear any remarkable difference. Great planar release without the planar downsides(for the most part). The S12 Pro is a great recommendation for those looking for a more lean and technical sound that still wants to have something that sounds quite natural and not something with an audible metallic sheen ruining the presentation. If it is plastic sealed when you get it, it should remain plastic sealed. Some types of goods such as CIEMs and custom cables cannot be returned.

Behind the (strange) name, two senior engineer: Danny To, ex engineer for Panasonic and sales director of a multinational technology company, and Jeff Wong, ex-head of Dah Chong Hong Group and Department director of ZhongSheng Group. Big heads, frustrated not to get their ideal sound, who decided to open up a company and create their own products – you know the drill. I just wish the tuning changes were more than just a couple of dB of bass boost. As far as collaborations go, the Letshuoer Z12 is fairly vanilla, with the color scheme adding most of the glamor. The Mids themselves are very well defined and mildly there is a hint of warmth, with a fine texture and pleasant details. I found them not shouty and no harshness. Which Planer Magnetic earphones deliver for you? Planar drivers are extremely capable drivers and there is currently an avalanche of Planar earphones on the market. I had the pleasure of listening to the S12, the original Letshouer planar earphones, lent to me by a kind friend. Good fun! Do the S12 Pros deliver?I must say that Z12 may not be suited at all for listening to classical or stringed ensemble which require a bit more of sharpness. On the other hand, for those who are familiar with the sound signature of Sennheiser HD580 or Fostex T series, the Mids of Z12 bear close resemblance to those two, “warm” ish and soothing, never offensive. So this depends on the moods as well. Z12 is quite adept with technicalities. The only caveat, soundstage could have been wider. It is not exactly narrow but I feel that the big and vibrant sound would have been perfect if the width and breadth of staging offer more spaces. Otherwise I would say that Z12 being very competent with speed and resolution – always clean sounding with well defined separation lines. Spatial positioning being holographic and immersive. The imaging sharp enough despite being largely a “warm” sounding unit. Z12 turned out to be quite a good device for gaming as well as action movies indulgence. The midrange is the least notable part of the of the S12 Pros’ presentation of music. That is not to say it falls short in anyway. Again, it is worth noting that your source and amplification play a part in how your music is presented. However, the presentation is delightful with full voices and instruments. The tuning gives you a soft yet silky presentation. A process that led to many successful ventures, like Meze, FiiO or even JDS Labs, all led by engineers in search of the “perfect sound”. And so, when Letshuoer asked us if we were keen to try their S12 Pro– an updated version of the S12, their magnetic planar IEM – I jumped in.
